Preeminent figure in the global fibre broadband industry, renowned for his visionary leadership and pioneering contributions to fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP)infrastructure. ​

As co-founder and Executive Chairman of VX Fiber, Mikael has been instrumental in advancing open-access fibre networks across Europe and beyond. His leadership extendsto strategic partnerships with municipalities, real estate developers, and investors, facilitating the deployment of open-access networks that are both scalable and sustainable. Mikael’s commitment to digital inclusivity and infrastructure democratization positions him as a leading authority in the field, driving the global transition toward ubiquitous high-speed connectivity​.​

Rami was a founding member and Board director of the FTTH Council Europe, serving as Chairman of Market Development Committee in 2004. In this role, he contributed to the Council’s mission of accelerating the availability and adoption of fiber-based connectivity across Europe. ​

Rami co-founded the award-winning FTTH operator in Sweden (Riksnet AB) which covered 40% of Sweden’s municipalities and was later on success fully sold to Telia. ​

Whilst working at top networking vendor firms, Rami was involved in building high-speed fibernetworks for enterprises and residences across Europe. Over the last decade, Rami focussed on monetising fiber investments by delivering over-the-top cloud communications and collaborations services to organisations and telecom operators across Europe. ​​

Mathias has worked in the telecom industry for the past 15 years in a wide range of roles - from NOC operations to OSS/BSS software development, architecture, and leadership. Most recently, he served as lead architect and developer of the FOS software platform at VX Fiber. For the past eight years, Mathias has also run his own company, Liero, supporting service providers and operators with BSS/OSS software development, system design, and technical consulting. Liero has contributed to several large-scale projects, including work with Sweden’s largest open-access operator, managing 100s of thousands of termination points. The company also supported Halebop, one of Sweden’s largest telecom providers, in launching its broadband initiative within open-access networks — where Liero developed automation solutions and upgraded the BSS/CRM system to meet new operational and customer management demands. Mathias’s career has often intersected with companies which Mikael has led.

Commercially astute and strategically driven executive with over 25 years of leadership across telecoms, infrastructure, real estate, and FMCG. A proven team-builder and communicator with a strong track record of launching and scaling businesses in complex markets. Currently Chief Commercial Officer at the International Fiber Alliance (IFA), expanding fiber connectivity through innovative open access models in the U.S., Indonesia and other highgrowth markets. Regular speaker at international broadband conferences and contributor to thought leadership on municipal fiber strategies.
